Tennessee under-funds public education by $500 million.

If we pass vouchers, we'll take another $175 million out of our public schools.

No voucher program in any state has ever improved student achievement.

I have been a teacher for thirty two years. Any student who wishes to attend a school out of zone, need only apply and provide their own transportation. Children in property will have the same hardship whether it be a public school out of zone or a private school with a voucher . They simply cannot afford transportation; there, vouchers have no justification. Keep our tax dollars in public schools!

We do not need to be turning public education into public warehousing! And segregation has never been the answer!

We must protect our public school system and continue to improve its success. A good, unbiased education is the right of every American. Let’s provide our children with more funds and support instead of adding obstacles.

The voucher system is not good. It will cause a weakening of public schools without assurance that private schools will be as good or better.

If you want students to succeed, support public school teachers and place teaching assistants in the early grades. Parting funding out to private schools robs those who pay taxes in expectation of there being good public schools.
