Sen. Kyle: Outsourcing would cut wages for state workers

State Sen. Sara Kyle appeared on WREG's Live at 9 in Memphis Oct. 26 to share her concerns with Gov. Haslam's plan to outsource jobs at 90% of state facilities.

"I'm very concerned, because our state workers are doing a great job, making a living wage," Sen. Kyle said. "If you privatize jobs, what you are doing is giving a private company a profit, and they're going to cut wages. We don't even know that the money you're giving the company will stay in Tennessee, and it's uncertain that outsourcing would save taxpayers money."

As a member of the Fiscal Review Committee, Sen. Kyle asked to hear testimony from state workers, but Republicans refused to schedule a meeting.
